The trail thru Floyd's Prairie to Floyd's Island appears to be a canal. Much of the time it narrows to 12' or so. We didn't make it all the way to Floyd's Island. We stopped here for lunch on some "dry" land where a 7-point buck had watched us paddle by from just off the canal. He stayed there within 50' of us for about 30 seconds after I got out of the canoe. We had seen a big whitetail (heard it first) running across the water-filled prairie about a mile back toward the river.
